Who we are

lasso is run by HT Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17416490.

Our registered office is 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX.

Where these terms say we, us or our, they mean HT Labs Ltd. Where they say you, they mean the person using lasso.

Who can use lasso

You must be 18 or over to use lasso. If we believe you are under 18, we will remove your account.

You need to be legally able to enter an agreement in the country you live in, and not barred from using a service like this one.

One person, one account. Accounts are personal to you and cannot be sold, shared or transferred.

Your account

You sign in with your mobile number. Keep it up to date, because it is how we know it's you.

One number, one account. This is how we stop people we have removed from simply coming back.

Your first name is fixed once you finish setting up your profile. If you have a genuine reason to change it, contact support.

You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it.

How you behave here

You agree to the house rules you accepted when you joined. In short:

• Be yourself. Real photos, real age, real story.
• Take your time before sharing personal details.
• Treat people well. A no is a no.
• Report anyone who is out of line.

You must not harass, threaten, impersonate, defraud or solicit money from anyone. You must not post anything unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit, and you must not post images of anyone who has not agreed to it.

You must not use lasso for advertising, recruitment, or any commercial purpose.

Content you share

You keep ownership of your photos and everything you write.

You give us permission to host, store and show that content to other members as part of running the service. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we need to keep something for safety or legal reasons.

Only upload photos you have the right to use, and that actually show you.

Safety, and the limits of what we can do

We check reports and remove people who break the rules, but we do not run criminal background checks on members and we cannot guarantee anyone is who they say they are.

Meeting people carries real risk. Please read our safety guide, and take the precautions in it seriously.

You are responsible for your own interactions, online and in person.

Where someone tells us they have been harmed, we keep a record of the relevant messages, profiles and the report itself. We keep it even if either account is later deleted, and we keep it for as long as an investigation or a legal claim may need it.

We cooperate with the police and other authorities where the law requires it, or where someone is at risk of serious harm. That can include giving them that record.

This is why deleting your account may not remove everything straight away. Your profile stops being visible immediately either way.

Premium and payments

lasso is free to use. If you buy a Premium subscription, it is billed through the App Store or Google Play, and their rules apply to renewals and refunds.

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel through your Apple or Google account settings, not by deleting the app.

Ending your membership

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Your profile stops being visible to other members immediately.

We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms or the house rules, or where we reasonably believe someone poses a risk to others. Where we can, we will tell you why.

Some information is kept after deletion where we are required to keep it, or where it is needed to keep other members safe.

Our liability

lasso is provided as it is. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or that you will meet anyone.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Intellectual property

lasso, our name, our logo and the app itself belong to us. You may use them to use lasso, and not for anything else.

Don't copy, resell, scrape or reverse-engineer any part of lasso, and don't use our name or logo in a way that suggests we are involved in something we aren't.

What you post stays yours. See “Content you share” for the permission you give us to show it.

lasso is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any festival, artist, brand or company we mention or show. Their trademarks, logos and artwork stay theirs.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.

Carrying on using lasso after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring one in your local courts.

Nothing here takes away the rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
