Child Safety Standards
Last updated 24 September 2026
lasso is for adults aged 18 and over. Child sexual abuse and exploitation has no place here and never will. This page sets out what we ban, how we find it, what we do when we find it, and how to tell us.
What we ban
Any sexualisation of a person under 18, in a photo, a profile, a Roundup or a message. This includes drawings, edited images and computer-generated material.
Child sexual abuse material of any kind. Possessing it, sharing it, asking for it or linking to it.
Grooming, sexual extortion, trafficking, or any attempt to make contact with a child for a sexual purpose.
Accounts belonging to anyone under 18, whether or not the account is being misused.
Adults only, and how we check
You give a date of birth when you join and you must be 18 or over. Accounts that fail it are not created.
Photo verification asks members to strike a pose on camera so the face on the profile is the face holding the phone.
If we believe an account belongs to someone under 18 we remove it, whether we found it ourselves or somebody told us.
How we find it
Every photo uploaded to lasso is scanned automatically before anybody sees it, and anything that looks like nudity, sexual content or a minor is held back for a human to look at.
Messages are checked server-side, not only on the phone, so the check cannot be skipped by a modified app.
Members can report any profile, photo, Roundup or chat from inside the app, in a few taps, without telling the other person.
How to tell us
In the app: tap the three dots on a profile or in a chat and choose Report. Reports are confidential and the other person is never told who reported them.
By email: hello@meetonlasso.com. Put CHILD SAFETY in the subject and we will treat it as urgent.
You do not need proof and you will not be in trouble for being wrong. Tell us and let us look.
What we do about it
We remove the content and permanently ban the account. There is no warning and no second chance for this.
We preserve the account, the content and the records so that the police have something to work with, even though the account is gone from lasso.
We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and to the Internet Watch Foundation, and we cooperate with the National Crime Agency and any other law enforcement request.
You can also report directly, and you do not have to go through us: CEOP at ceop.police.uk, or the Internet Watch Foundation at iwf.org.uk.
Where this sits in the law
We follow the UK Online Safety Act 2023, the Protection of Children Act 1978 and the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
We meet Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and Apple's App Review Guidelines on user generated content.
lasso is operated by HT Labs Ltd, 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX.
